BL always struck me as a man of the people, fighting for the rights of the little guy. To see him turn into an obsequious defender of building statutes and condemn this young man’s hand-built edifice, it’s just shameful.
Bear Lawyer is simply concerned with the public’s safety, and the fact remains that the youth’s structure is simply not built to code, and is thereby a danger to its potential inhabitants. BL would be remiss not to inform the architect, contractor, owner, et al, and to enforce the relevant statute(s) accordingly.
(Also, it’s not as if that sand-crafting munchkin is wholly opposed to demolishing his miniature castle. That’s half the fun of building it!)
